MSc Alireza Mehrabi

PhD student
Electronic Components, Technology and Materials (ECTM), Department of Microelectronics

Themes: Micro/Nano System Integration and Reliability

Biography

Alireza holds two bachelor's degrees: one in Electronic Engineering and another in Civil Technology Engineering, both obtained from Azad University in Iran. In May 2023, he successfully completed his master’s degree in Civil Engineering, specializing in Risk Mitigation, at Politecnico di Milano in Italy.
Throughout his academic and professional journey, Alireza has been deeply engrossed in the fields of dynamics of structures, mechanical testing of structures, structural assessment, and structural health monitoring. His passion for these areas culminated in his master’s thesis, which focused on structural damage detection through the innovative application of reinforcement learning and optimal sensor placement. Notably, his work involved the development of an unsupervised artificial intelligence model, trained using real data from a limited number of low-resolution sensors. This model exhibited the remarkable ability to detect, localize, and assess structural damage without prior knowledge of the structure's current condition.
Starting from September 2023, Alireza became a member of the Electronic Components, Technology, and Materials (ECTM) group within the Department of Microelectronics at TU Delft University, as part of the MIRELAI project. His current research is centered on the development of an accurate digital twin model at the component level. This model aims to enhance reliability analysis and predict failures in electronic products.
